NFHRS MISION AND PUROSE

 

Never Forgotten Horse Rescue and Sanctuary is  nonprofit horse rescue and sanctuary based in Lancaster County SC. Our goal is to Save and rehabilitate all unwanted, abused, neglected, or abandoned horses. We also aim to help horse owners who have fallen on hard times and are no longer able to properly take care of their horses.

 

What is Abuse and Neglect?

 

Abuse of equines could be defined many ways depending in which context you are speaking and to whom you are speaking.

 

In Webster's dictionary abuse is defined as to hurt by treating badly, mistreatment, causing injury.

 

Neglect is defined in Webster's as: not to care for suficiently or properly, slight, to treat as unimportant, through carelessness or by intention.

 

Here at Never Forgotten Horse Rescue and Sanctuary we know that neglect is not always intentional. We all have fallen on hard times and stumbled here and there. The economy has put a hurting on everyone. That is why our mission is not only to help the equines that cannot help themselves or speak for themselves, also to help the owners.. The owners who love their horses enough to know when they can no longer take care of them and let them go because it is in the best interest of the horse.
